A Beginner's Ascension [Open/Mod]

After obtaining her starter Pokemon, a male Vanillite which she spent several minutes fangirling over its cuteness and giving it a nickname, Tiffany left the Trainer Union building and officially started her adventure as a Trainer. The first route she had to take to the nearest city was Ascenda Route. The route was heavily dense with trees, which she liked as they blocked the sun's afternoon heat. The scents of nature and random cries of wild Pokemon made her feel as if she was at home.

Currently she had Luke out of its ball and the icecream cone had gotten along well with the cotton puff. Tiffany knew that her starter was weak and that she had to train him up so that he can fend for himself. She would have to start training now to lay down the foundation proper. She was also excited to see what Pokemon may reside in Ascenda Route. Hopefully she might also be able to catch some new and cute Pokemon.

Tiffany looked around the route, not exactly sure of what to do. This was her first time actually searching for a wild Pokemon to battle. Was she supposed to set up a trap with bait? She knew Pokemon were attracted to honey but sadly, she hadn't brought any with her.

"Oh dear... Momee, how do you suggest we find a Pokemon in this place?"

"Hmmm, I do quite recall one painting I saw of a person with a Pokemon fighting another Pokemon in a forested area. Perhaps, the wild Pokemon would just pop out?" the Cottonee quipped thoughtfully.

All three of them thought about this as they walked. Exactly how does one find a wild Pokemon?

Exactly how does one find a wild Pokemon? Well, the answer was right around them! Seriously! Perhaps most of them had been hiding behind the trees and bushes, but some were bound to be discovered. While most Pokemon around here were grass or bug typed, there had always been some exceptions. This little Pokemon was one of those special cases.

With a curious wriggle of its nose, a male Buizel waddled out from a nearby bush, searching for something to eat. His eyes soon landed upon a bush of Wacan Berries - his own personal favorite. The water Pokemon quickly scooted over, using his two tails and paws to extract them one by one; it was totally unaware of the trainer and her new starter Pokemon. Now happy with a paw full of goodies, the Buizel sat on his bum and dug in, curling his tail around himself.

There was a sudden rustling in the patch of tall grass on Tiffany's left and an orange weasel-like Pokemon appeared. It apparently had its eye set on a bush of tantalizing yellow berries. If memory proved right, the species of fruit was Wacan. A berry soft and filled with special juice that, unlike most liquids, was a poor conductor of electricity. The Buizel was busy eating the berries as Tiffany squealed with delight that they had found a Pokemon.

"O-okay, Luke, time for your first training! Uh... Harden yourself, then use Icicle Spear for good damage!"

"Alrighty, getting to it~"

Luke bobbed in mid-air as the swirling scoop of cream on his head solidified for several seconds, and his icy body strengthened to a toughness similar to metal. His body became glossy all-around for a while due to the move's effects. The Vanillite felt like he was wielding on a full-body armor, and naturally, this gave him a slight confidence in the battle. Next, he opened his mouth in an 'O', releasing a chilly breeze that sparkled. His mouth glowed as thin icicle shards flew out towards the Buizel, who was oblivious to his presence and to the danger it was in.

The berries were amazing! They were in perfect shape and the juices were simply overwhelming in his mouth, taking over his taste buds. It was understandable that such pleasure had made him unaware of the attack behind him. When he did notice, it was a teeny bit too late. Spinning around, the Buizel let out a yelp of surprise as a shard of ice struck him right at the chest, launching him back with the surprise attack. With a little groan, the Water Pokemon stared at the ice cream cone, letting out a snarl, "W-Why'd you do that?! At least attack after letting me know! That's not how you treat someone!"

HP:60%!

The Buizel opened his jaws and let out a growl attack, lowering the cone's stats before slamming his paws together, creating a loud Sonic Boom which spread across the field like a gigantic wave.

"W-Why'd you do that?! At least attack after letting me know! That's not how you treat someone!"

"Whoooooops~ I'm sorry, orders are orders. You could lessen the pain by giving in without a fight, you know. I need the training and she needs a new Pokemon," the Vanillite merely gave a casual shrug and lift of his "brows".

Then, the Buizel suddenly let out a startling growl, causing the ice cream to momentarily find the weasel to be adoring. Wait, I'm supposed to be fighting him!

Just as suddenly, a wave of energy smashed into his body, causing vibrations all over his puny vanilla body. He shot a glare at the Buizel as he shook the pain away.

"Okay Luke, almost there! Give him one good shot of Icicle Spear!" Tiffany commanded.

The Fresh Snow Pokemon moved from side to side in his mid-air position, gathering up cold energy to form small crystals like before. He raised his stubby arms up and swung them down as he fired the ice crystals from his mouth. The icicles continued shooting out until he run out of frost to generate more. Let's see whether that Buizel would finally give in to be captured, or not. The Vanillite smirked.

Did they really think that two attacks would be sufficient for a capture? This Buizel was going to prove them wrong. With his eyes narrowed and his arms in a defensive post in front of his head, the water Pokemon stood firmly and braced for the attack. The barrage of icicles slammed against his body, causing him to wince in pain, but he wasn't going to beaten just because of mere icicles.

"Lessen the pain? I'm fighting for my freedom here! I'm going all-out on you!" said the Buizel with a huff, using another growl with a Sonic Boom right behind it. The soundwaves spread across the arena again, hoping to deal even more damage than the last one. After all, the more consecutive attacks, the more damage it'll bring; this Sonic Boom was twice as deadly, "And I'm definitely not joining a team with an ice cream cone!"

With the same combination of moves, waves of sound blasted against Luke. He was getting slightly shaken, but everything was bearable. Plus, he had braced for the same thing. Wow, he was actually learning fast.

"Okay, try to confuse him with a Water Pulse," That would make it easy to catch, I hope.

"And I'm definitely not joining a team with an ice cream cone!"

"Whoa there, was that racist or what? What do you have against ice cream cones or even Ice types for that matter?? I'll have you know that we're cousins to you Water types!" Luke retorted.

He spinned around, converting some of his vanilla cream into vanilla liquid. As the liquid cream swirled around his body, he channeled the ice-cream current to the Buizel.

Tiffany prepared a PokeBall at hand once the Buizel was confused/

They had to be stupid if they thought they could land every single attack! The Buizel might be slower than the average Beedrill but he could still evade them once in a while; everyone had agility to a certain extent. Plus, he didn't really want to lose in a fight, especially if the enemy was a freaking ICE CREAM. The weasel Pokemon narrowed his eyes and leaped into the air, doing a somersault as the current shot though right under his body, "A cousin, but a weaker cousin! I mean, seriously! You only resist yourself and you're weak against four types! Water types are resistant to four and is only weak against two! You're an insult to the water family!"

Landing on his feet, the Buizel launched himself forward and delivered a swift backhand slap-attack, attempting to land his quick attack at such a close range. He would teach him!

"A cousin, but a weaker cousin! I mean, seriously! You only resist yourself and you're weak against four types! Water types are resistant to four and is only weak against two! You're an insult to the water family!"

"At least we don't get killed by a flower OR a vine!" Luke replied indignantly as he saw his Water Pulse miss.

The Buizel shot forward, extending his paw to hit him. The slap landed right on his cheek, momentarily squishing his creamy face out of shape. Seizing the opportunity of a close-ranged target, Tiffany told him to launch another watery attack. He melted vanilla into snowy water and blasted a vortex towards the Buizel. Just a few feet and Luke would hear a splash when the Water Pulse hit.

Okay this was starting to get frustrating. How did that ice cream cone NOT die pass out? After two sonic booms and a strong quick attack, that thing was still standing as if nothing had happened! Was that vanilla ice cream made out of METAL or something?! Even the Buizel had started to feel a little tired; the odds could quickly go against him if he made one single mistake. The Water Pulse slammed against his body, pushing him back and making him flinch upon crashing against a tree trunk.

HP: 10%!

"Alright, you take that back right now!" the Buizel hollered, "I can do WAY better than a normal ice cream cone!"

Hoping that this Sonic Boom could do the trick, the water type slammed his hands together, launching a final Sonic Boom. It was definitely going to be humiliating if he lost a fight against a...food...Pokemon...thing.

"I can do WAY better than a normal ice cream cone!"

"You can do better if you'd join my trainer and train," Luke said matter-of-factly. The Buizel was getting more and more boastful each time, even though it was all talk. He ought to stop thinking he's the best. Let's just end this already, it's getting boring.

Tiffany sensed a small mild vibe of emotion from her starter. Hmm, he seems a bit bored... Looks like I'll have to speed up the training and get a move on.

"Okay Luke, counter that Sonic Boom with another Water Pulse. Icicle Spear and we'll leave it at that."

When the white wave of sound kept sweeping towards him, Luke blasted a rushing stream of water. The sound clashed against the liquid, dissipating through water molecules. Smirking, Luke fired several icy spikes from his vanilla scoop at the Buizel.

The Buizel was surprised that the opponent had blocked his SonicBoom attack; that Ice Pokemon there was seriously hard to beat despite being, like, the weakest type ever. That, or the Buizel just sucked. It was probably both. The wild Pokemon's fate was sealed when the Ice Cream released a barrage of spikes, striking the weasel from top to bottom.


Craaaapppp...game over for me.


The Buizel groaned and staggered forward before crashing onto the ground, "I'd prefer chocolate..." With a final hiss of hatred, the air was knocked out from the Pokemon's lungs, causing him to faint.
