Alrighty. So, you made it into the staff. Congrats~[/i] As a staff member you serve as the face of this sight, and so any bad actions you make effect the site more than what a normal member would. This is mind, please try not to throw temper tantrums, never provoke fights, and do your best to keep a level head in tense situations
So, first lets talk about the general rules that all of the staff should follow (these are pretty similar to member rules but a little stricter).
- Be Mature.
[/li][li]Do Your Job.[/i] That should be pretty obvious, but I still feel that I should stress how important it is for you to stay active. Anyone who does not meet the requirements that their job demands of them may be stripped of their title without warning.
[/li][li]Step Up.[/i] If there is ever a bad situation going on and an Admin, or myself, is not on, please take charge of the situation and do your best to get things under control. Once an upper staff member gets on promptly tell them what had happened so they can resolve the situation for good.
[/li][/ul]
Those are the three basic rules. Even though they may seem obvious it shall still be written and placed on the wall for all staff to forever see.
From here on, I'm going to detail what each staff member does and what is expected of them, starting with the Mods.
Moderators[/u]
You guys are the people who pretty much make this site work. As a moderator you're job is to, well, mod the threads of the other members. The first place you should Always check is the Starting Zone and the Mod Me sections. If either of these two places start to fill up with an excessive amount of threads, we will ask you to try and take more threads while he search for more people to join the force. (For more information about the Starting Zone characters, check the Moderator board)
Please try to keep up exciting posts when modding a thread, unless the person specifically asks for a simple training thread. In that case, all you need to do is spawn Pokemon for them. Now, I'm not saying every thread needs to be a masterpiece, but please try to have at least one thread going on in which you are making an obvious effort to keep the poster on their toes. It makes the roleplaying experience for members more enjoyable.
Also, keep in mind that Shadow Pokemon are specially colored. All Shadow Pokemon are either Purple, Blue, or Dark Pink. On the Moderator board there will be a thread which keeps a list of all Shadow Pokemon that have already been spawned. From there you can simply copy and paste the image URL and use it. However, if you are to spawn a Shadow Pokemon that has yet to be spawned, all you need to do is take the regular sprite of the Pokemon into any image editing software (Paint.Net, Paint, SAI, Photoshop, etc.) and adjust the Hue/Saturation until the Pokemon is one of the appropriate color. Save the image as a GIF with a transparent background. After you have made the sprite, post a reply in the Shadow Pokemon sprite list and the sprite will be added to the main list.
Senior Moderators[/u]
These guys preform everything that a normal Mod does, they just have a higher standing in the site. The only difference in the two Mod positions are that Senior Mods get to spawn rarer Pokemon and will most likely be in charge of site-wide plots/events.
Designers[/u]
These are the architects of the site. Their job is to make sure that a steady flow of new skins come into the site, giving it a more customizable feel for the members. Of course, that's not all they are asked to do. Designers are also asked to keep an eye open for any broken links, inappropriate images, and anything that might hinder the appearance of the forum. If they find a broken link, they should try to fix it as soon as possible.
Another thing that they are required to do is go through the advertisement board and make sure there are no inactive sites posted. They will also delete any advertisement that is over two months old.
Admins[/u]
Admins do just about everything. They mod threads, keep an eye on the advertisement board, and make sure members play nicely. This is easily the biggest position anyone can obtained. And with that being said it is only reserved for the best of members who had proved themselves time and time again and have gotten along well with the members of the site. This is also a position you cannot ask for--It must be given to you. Myself, Admins, and Senior Mods will come together and take a vote on whether you are worthy enough for this position. If majority rules in your favor you'll be given the title Admin.
